August | September Musings - Sam's end of Summer reset!

At Somerset Moss, we don’t believe in skin types as they are traditionally spoken about. We believe that our skin is always changing - the passing of time means that at any one point, our skin is impacted by our lifestyle/ stress levels, diet, hormones, how active we are, getting older, the list goes on!
Changing weather is another big factor that influences how our skin looks and feels so let's roll with the seasons!
Spring | Summer : Bath & Body Oil This invigorating Bath and Body Oil is a soothing moisturiser that helps repair skin after long summer days in the sunshine. Botanical extracts of may chang and radish deliver a powerful punch of antioxidants straight to your skin while spearmint activates a cool, tingling sensation.
All that’s left to do is enjoy the underlying notes of linden blossom, jasmine, and cedarwood. This uplifting scent lingers long after application, along with a beautiful dewy finish, and a bright, fresh feeling.
These luxurious Soap Bars will turn your everyday shower into something special. Enjoy effortlessly smoother skin, one shower at a time.
Through a rich lather, feel the grains of pink Himalayan salt from the Exfoliating Bar working to brighten and polish your skin. Envelop yourself in the energizing and uplifting aroma of peppermint, lavender and sweet orange.
The Moisturising Bar is infused with handpicked local botanicals including yarrow, rosehip and dandelion are and naturally detoxifying pink clay works to gently nourish your skin through the driest of times. Lather up and envelop yourself in the uplifting scent of geranium and grapefruit.

Oh September - what a gorgeous month!
I still have that new year feeling that comes with the return back to school after the summer. Time for a new (metaphorical) pencil case! Here are three few fun changes that i'd love to share with you Beauty Insiders:
Our website has had a fun new school year refreshhhhh. Go and check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
Oh and for everyone who writes a review this month, we will be sending you a free surprise gift with your next purchase!
Some personal news! For those you of based in Vancouver, you can find me at Fig Bar, in Ambleside twice a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-8pm). I just lovee giving facials so much (in fact, it's one of the reasons I started Somerset Moss in the first place) so I am very excited to be using Somerset Moss goodies (amongst other gorgeous brands they stock there). I hope to see your face there soon at this fabulous new location.
In case you missed it, we have brought out some snazzy new subscription options! These were designed for our lovely regulars to offset our recent price increase (a direct result from our hero botanical ingredients getting pricier!). Just head to checkout to see your subscriber options and rewards! As an example, if you were to subscribe to the Core Bundle every two months, within a year, you will have saved around $100!
PRO-TIP: Now is a great time to use the Brightening Mask to brighten, hydrate and detox skin that has been depleted from being out and about in the sunshine!
Polish away dead skin with buffered apricot seedsdetoxifying pink clay and other nourishing superstar botanical ingredients. Glasswort and avocado/carrot seed oils will nourish the skin while extracts of rice bran, frankincense and liquorice refine. Chamomile and marshmallow root reduce inflammation and work hard to restore the skin’s natural barrier.

We are over here feeling MAGNETIC after listening to Lacy Phillips on her podcast 'Expanded'. She often mentions the importance of befriending 'expanders' - those people who come into your life and make you feel like anything is possible.
We just loved this article containing poems related to ageing. And while you're there, make sure you subscribe to The Good Trade - a 30 second daily newsletter with some absolute gems about self care and sustainable living.
Last week at our Granville Island pop up, we were lucky to share the space with Soul Roots Moss Art. Infuse your home with the healing benefits of the forest with wall art, frames and bowls of moss creations. Each of the pieces are sustainably harvested and naturally preserved with natural oils and food dyes so you can enjoy them for years to come.
With botanical love,
Sam x
